January 15-April 30, 2015 – Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has created a new menu item at The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar called the Motor Keeps Going (MKG) burger. The Cowfish will donate $5 from every sale of the MKG to A Child’s Place, one of Kidd-Gilchrist’s favorite charities. The Cowfish Website

January 19, 2015 – A Child’s Place office closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

February 20, 2015 – Underground Detour Band and Mojo Ruckus benefit concert at Double Door Inn presented by MaxxMusic. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and show starts at 7:00 p.m. with proceeds supporting A Child’s Place. Purchase Tickets 

February 27, 2015 – Party With A Purpose hosted by Rudy and Natalie Brown, Ramona Holloway, Lifting As We Climb Foundation, DirtyEight Productions and BLT Steak from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. This innovative, multi-party collaborative event raises awareness in the African American community about important two important issues: child homelessness and support of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). Proceeds from the two-day event will benefit A Child’s Place.

April 5, 2015 – Jeff Moose begins his 600-mile trek from Manteo, NC to Murphy, NC called The Walk for Homeless Youth (WHY) Project to raise money and awareness for A Child’s Place. Donate here to show your support for his journey. The WHY Project Facebook Page

April 12-18, 2015 – Sports Clips will donate $2 from every MVP Haircut Experience purchased at their Northlake location to A Child’s Place. More Information and Directions

April 25, 2015 – Holy Trinity Catholic Middle School Bulldog 5K starting at 8:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic School followed by a Fun Run at 8:45 a.m. A Child’s Place will receive a percentage of the proceeds raised in addition to Holy Trinity Catholic Middle School. April 25, 2015 – Power of a Poet from 7:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. at the Hope Cafe in Raleigh, NC. Hosted by Sherria Grubbs, author of the book “Deep Connections: A Book of Poetry Straight From the Heart,” this poetry even is unlike anything you have ever seen before. $10 admission includes hors d’oeuvres with a portion of proceeds going to A Child’s Place. May 15, 2015 – The Magellan Idea Center will celebrate their 10th Birthday Party from 5:15 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at their location on South Boulevard. A painting by North Carolina artist Kristin Gibson will be raffled at the party with proceeds benefiting A Child’s Place.

May 20, 2015 – The Muse Event hosted by Ethan Allen, Inc. from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at their design center on Carolina Place Parkway. The event celebrates the launch of their new Muse book and includes a silent auction to benefit A Child’s Place.

May 20, 2015 – It’s time to form your teams wisely and play to win the IIDA 2nd Annual In the “Hole” for Charity Cornhole Tournament at VGBG beginning at 5:00 p.m. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to A Child’s Place. May 25, 2015 – A Child’s Place office is closed for Memorial Day.

May 30, 2015 – A Swine Evening from 7:00 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. at the Renaissance Charlotte Suite Hotel. This event is a colorful gala, a celebrity piggy bank auction and party. Piggy banks are packaged with trips, fun items and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. More Information

 June 1, 2015 – The fourth annual Swing Fore A Child’s Place Golf Tournament at River Run Country Club in Davidson, NC. Enjoy a fabulous day of golf, food and prizes while helping impact the lives of A Child’s Place students attending Walter G. June 5, 2015 – ECM’s No Limit Texas Hold’Em Poker Tournament with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. at Draught Charlotte. A $200 buy-in includes drink tickets, heavy hors d’oeuvres and an opportunity to win first through fifth place prizes. All proceeds will benefit A Child’s Place. Register Here

June 14, 2015 – Kendra Gives Back Event at their store in SouthPark Mall from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. 20% of all proceeds made in store during this time period will be donated to A Child’s Place.

July 13-26, 2015 – #summershareCLT is a social media movement that seeks to inspire our community to give – either goods or funds – this summer. A Child’s Place is collaborating with 49 other local nonprofit agencies and SHARE Charlotte to make #summershareCLT a success, and you can be a part of it! July 6-August 28, 2015 – NBC Charlotte and Kimbrell’s Furniture Stuff the Backpacks school supply and uniform drive for A Child’s Place. Bring a backpack stuffed with items from our Back-to-School Needs List and deliver to the NBC Charlotte lobby at 1001 Wood Ridge Center Drive or any area Kimbrell’s store. More Information

August 17-28, 2015 – Bake, Snap and Tag with The Scone Shop! Take a picture of yourself, friends and family enjoying The Scone Shop’s delicious scones and post the photo on social media using the hashtag “#Scones2ACP.” The Scone Shop will donate $1 in school supplies to A Child’s Place for every photo posted. August 24, 2015 – NBA star Gerald Henderson will host the Second Annual Gerald Henderson Charity Golf Invitational presented by ACN at Trump National Golf Club Charlotte. All teams will be comprised of a four-person group and one celebrity. September 19, 2015 – Summer Love Festival from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Rooftop 210 at Epicentre. September 26, 2015 – Charlotte Irish Connection presents the first annual A Night in the City, an evening of live Irish music and merriment to benefit A Child’s Place. Lively music and spectacular views of uptown Charlotte from The VUE Charlotte’s SKY Lounge will make A Night in the City one to remember. November 10, 2015 – Ballantyne Country Club Fashion Show produced by Nordstrom from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. All proceeds raised through raffle will be donated to A Child’s Place.

December 3, 2015 – SAF Technologies, Inc. Creating Safer Schools Seminar at the Mint Museum from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. featuring Sandy Hook Elementary first grade teacher Kaitlin Roig-DeBellis. All ticket sales will be donated to A Child’s Place.

December 12, 2015 – 12 Days of Giving Charity Event at The Unknown Brewing Co. from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Enjoy an afternoon of crafts, baked goods, festive drinks, raffles, giveaways, an ugly sweater contest and holiday cheer. December 12, 2015 – Christmas at St. Nektarios at 6:00 p.m. This free concert by Opera Carolina will feature traditional Christmas carols, Greek folk music and religious hymns. Donations will be collected for A Child’s Place.

November 26-December 31, 2015 – Eric and Kristen Greenwald’s award-winning Huntersville Christmas Lights will support A Child’s Place again this year. The display contains over 21,000 lights all choreographed to Christmas music and won a national award  for “Most Creative Display” 2 years in a row. View Display Information and Donate Here
