Join Our Cause
A Child’s Place served 2,002 homeless students in 15 Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools during the 2018 school year.
Have a positive impact on these students by volunteering as a classroom assistant, lunch buddy, or tutor.
Help boost a child’s academic success, self-esteem, and achieve their goals and dreams.
Become a Lunch Buddy!
Lunch buddies come to school once a week (one hour including travel time) to have lunch with your buddy, talk, play games, or read.
Become a Tutor!
Tutors assist students for one hour per week with homework, studying, and developing reading and math skills.
Become a Classroom Assistant!
Classroom assistants help in an assigned classroom (1-2 hours/week) facilitating classroom activities with the teacher (individual tutoring, small group activities, art projects, or checking papers).
