Registration is now open for the 4th Annual Swing Fore A Child’s Place golf tournament June 1 at River Run Country Club in Davidson. The event will raise funds for A Child’s Place work at Walter G. Byers Academy, a pre-K through 8th grade school in Charlotte with a high number of homeless children.
Tournament play begins at 1 p.m., with lunch catered by Jim ‘N Nick’s starting at 11:30 a.m. In addition to tournament contests, players will also have the chance to vie for exclusive raffle prizes such as a two-night stay at the Sanctuary hotel on Kiawah Island or tickets to see the Duke Blue Devils, 2015 NCAA National Champions, play at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Registration is $250 per player and includes lunch, a light dinner after golf, the Party on the Putting Green, player gifts and prizes.
All proceeds from the tournament go directly to A Child’s Place, a local non-profit working to erase the impact of homelessness on Charlotte children and their education. Over the past three years, Swing Fore has raised more than $275,000 for A Child’s Place. This year, Swing Fore will partner with A Child’s Place to support its work at Walter G. Byers Academy, where more than 130 of the students are homeless.
Golfers can register to play in the tournament at http://swingfore2015.eventbrite.com . Non-golfers who want to support the cause also can participate by making a donation through the registration site.
