Five Guys of Charlotte Slates An Evening for A Child’s Place on Wednesday, August 28 from 5:00-10:00 p.m. to Help Charlotte-Area Homeless Children

Charlotte, NC — On Wednesday, August 28, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to closing time at 10:00 p.m. six Charlotte-area Five Guys locations will participate in an evening for A Child’s Place to make a difference in the lives of the more than 4,770 homeless children attending Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.  That evening, Five Guys will donate a portion of sales from six Charlotte locations to A Child’s Place.  A Child’s Place (www.achildsplace.org) is a Charlotte nonprofit on a mission to erase the impact of homelessness on children and their education.  During the 2012-2013 school year, A Child’s Place was able to help 2,656 homeless children in Mecklenburg County.

“It is shocking to consider that right now there are well over 4,700 homeless children living right here in Charlotte,” said Rick Fisher, area owner and franchisee for Five Guys.  “Five Guys can’t wave a magic wand and change their circumstances, but we want to help A Child’s Place make their lives and their school days a little better.”

According to Annabelle Suddreth, Executive Director of A Child’s Place, “We are so grateful for the support our client children are going to receive from the community’s participation in An Evening for A Child’s Place at Five Guys.”  “This is a creative way for them – and for lovers of Five Guys famous burgers and fries all over our area – to help homeless children!”  Suddreth, members of the ACP staff and board and Charlotte Mayor Pro Tem Patrick Cannon will be flipping a few of those famous burgers at the Blakeney Five Guys on Rea Road on August 28 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Want to help?  After 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, take a group of friends to dine-in or order to-go at any of the following six Five Guys locations.  You can also order online through your iPhone or by visiting www.fiveguys.com.  Even better, plan an August 28 date night with a special someone to help the client homeless children of A Child’s Place.
