For many of us, the holiday season is a reminder of our blessings. We reflect on our gratitude for what we have – a home, food, employment, family and friends. However, this time of year can be challenging for others, including the families of A Child’s Place. Without guaranteed access to basic needs like shelter, food and clothing, it can be difficult to feel thankful for what you have. A Child’s Place invites you to make the holidays a little brighter for families experiencing homelessness this year by participating in our 2014 Holiday Sponsorship Program.

Holiday Sponsorship FAQ
Who does my Holiday Sponsorship support? Holiday Sponsorships support children and families experiencing homelessness who are being assisted by A Child’s Place. A Child’s Place focuses our efforts on serving 34 CMS elementary and middle schools.
When will I receive information for the family I am sponsoring? Sponsors will receive information about their assigned family including clothing sizes and wish-lists by Friday, November 21.
How do I make my donation?
- Personally shop for grocery store gift cards, clothing and wish-list items for each family member and deliver items to Holiday Central location.
- Make a secure online donation and select “Student, Family and Holiday Sponsorship” as the designated program. Please include which family you are sponsoring in the “Notes” section of the form. A Child’s Place staff will use your monetary donation to shop for that family on your behalf.
When is my donation due? Sponsor delivery is scheduled for Monday, December 8 through Thursday, December 11. Once you receive your family information, you will be assigned a specific day during that time period to deliver.
Can I deliver my donation on a day other than my assigned day? A Child’s Place asks that all sponsors adhere to their assigned day. This allows us to manage the volume of items coming in daily and communicate with our families as to when their items are ready for pick-up.
Where do I deliver my donations? All donations should be delivered to our Holiday Central location not to the A Child’s Place main office. The Holiday Central location is TBD.
Can I meet the family that I sponsor? Due to the A Child’s Place confidentiality policy, sponsors are unable to meet their assigned family. Once sponsors deliver items to Holiday Central, A Child’s Place will contact families to arrange pick-up.
Should I wrap my donations? Please leave donations unwrapped. Volunteers are present at Holiday Central to wrap gifts once they are screened by A Child’s Place staff. Sign-ups to wrap gifts at Holiday Central will be available on our website and social media pages on Monday, November 24. Slots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
