DAVIDSON – Golfers will tee it up at the 2nd Annual Swing Fore A Child’s Place golf tournament May 13, helping make it possible for homeless children to attend summer camp.
The event, held at River Run Country Club in Davidson, includes a buffet lunch, golf, prizes, raffles and dinner, with all funds raised going directly to A Child’s Place summer camp program, called My Place.
In addition to tournament contests, players will also have the chance to win raffle prize like tickets to a Duke basketball game with a behind-the-scenes tour of Cameron Indoor Stadium.
The inaugural Swing Fore tournament, held last April, raised $74,000 for an additional camp site, allowing My Place to expand from 100 to 150 children.
Tee-off time is 1 p.m. May 13, with a buffet lunch open at noon in the clubhouse.
Registration is $250 per player or $800 per foursome.
