CHARLOTTE, NC — Award-winning singer, songwriter and philanthropist Anthony Hamilton kicks off a week of giving in his beloved city of Charlotte, with another year of Anthony Hamilton’s Big Payback Week benefiting numerous partners across the city.

As the annual CIAA Tournament heats up in Charlotte, starting on Tuesday February 26th, the Grammy-winning Hamilton pairs up again with the Men’s Shelter of Charlotte, the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, and the Salvation Army Center of Hope, as well as A Child’s Place the next day in a packed week of service that includes food delivery, lunch, donations, and more.

Honoring his hometown to continue impacting homelessness, hunger, health and education among the city’s men, women and children, Hamilton will also receive special honors from the city with a mayoral proclamation of “Anthony Hamilton Day” on Wednesday, February 27th.

“Charlotte has been my home all my life and although performing has taken me to far-off

places, I can’t imagine raising my family anywhere else and feel blessed to come home to this beautiful city and everything it offers. With all it offers to its residents and the rest of the world, in these challenging times there are many families in Charlotte that need our support more than ever to get through, and working with these organizations, serving the men, women and children here, I will continue to do anything I can to help strengthen our community, Hamilton says.”

A proud resident and native of the Queen City, Anthony Hamilton remains dedicated to empowering the well-being of its residents and enriching the community that continues to inspire him daily as a husband (to fellow singer Tarsha), father of six, singer, songwriter and producer, establishing the TASTE (Take A Step To Elevate) Foundation in 2009 to promote improved health and well-being in his home city and nationwide.

Knowing common difficulties that families can face without access to proper shelter, nutrition and other resources, with additional support from Jordan Brand and ConAgra Foods, Hamilton will distribute food, backpacks, shoes and more, and present checks to the Men’s Shelter, the Center of Hope, and A Child’s Place to fund their continued efforts providing warm accommodations for Charlotte’s men, women and children.

Anthony Hamilton’s Big Payback Week kicks off with a busy Tuesday in the city for Hamilton on February 26th, at the Men’s Shelter, the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, and the Center of Hope.

At the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, ConAgra Foods will be making a donation on behalf of their Child Hunger Ends Here campaign.  ConAgra Foods is building a community of people to make a difference, from top musical artists, to moms, kids, employees and more to help donate up to 3 million³ meals.  For each 8-digit code found on specially marked ConAgra Foods products and entered at or, ConAgra Foods will donate the monetary equivalent of one meal³ to Feeding America.

Continuing on Wednesday February 27th, Hamilton will visit with children at the Ashley Park Elementary School on behalf of A Child’s Place and present a donation to the organization, where he will also be honored by the City of Charlotte proclaiming Wednesday “Anthony Hamilton Day.”  Hamilton will host two celebrations at the end of the week with two blowout events in Charlotte with support from Coke Zero and Toyota on Friday, March 1st and Saturday, March 2nd.

Anthony Hamilton’s most recent album is the critically-acclaimed Back to Love, which had two nominations at the recent Grammy Awards, and he also contributed to the soundtrack for the Oscar®-nominated film Django Unchained, performing and writing on the well-received lead song “Freedom.”  The sought-after artist also serves advocating for foster children as the national spokesperson with the non-profit organization Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), and is a Jordan Brand team member.
