A Child’s Place invites you to make the holidays a little brighter for families experiencing homelessness this year by participating in our 2016 Holiday Programs!

1. Holiday Sponsorship


Our Holiday Sponsorship’s are currently full.  Please consider contributing to the “Student, Family and Holiday Sponsorship” fund which will provide continued support to our families during the holidays and in the months following.

2. Give Back Gift Shops

Host a shopping experience at one of our schools to give students a unique opportunity to experience the joys of giving by allowing them to select holiday gifts for their parents or caregivers. For this opportunity, your volunteer group will: 
1. Collect a variety of small gifts in a $5-$10 price range for parents.
2. Set-up the “shop” at one of our 15 partner CMS locations.
3. Take students through the shop to select gifts for their parents followed by gift wrapping and card making.

**All Give Back Gift Shops will occur during school hours between November 29 – December 14. Contact Delana Murdock at dmurdock@achildsplace.org for more information and to schedule your activity.

3. Feed a Family

Provide a grocery store gift card for A Child’s Place families being sponsored by one of our community partners for the holidays. Suggested donation amount is $30 per family and can be made by bringing or mailing physical grocery store gift cards to our main office located at 601 E. 5th Street, Suite 230, Charlotte, NC 28202.

Holiday Sponsorship FAQ

Who does my Holiday Sponsorship support? Holiday Sponsorships supports A Child’s Place families with children who are 0-18 years old.
When will I receive information for the family I am sponsoring? Sponsors will receive information about their assigned family including wish-lists by Friday, November 18.
How do I make my donation? Sponsors personally shop for grocery store gift cards and wish-list items for each child and deliver items to the A Child’s Place main office.
When is my donation due? Sponsor delivery is scheduled for Wednesday, December 7 and Thursday, December 8. Once you receive your family information, you will be assigned a specific day to deliver.
Can I deliver my donation on a day other than my assigned day? A Child’s Place asks that all sponsors adhere to their assigned day. This allows us to manage the volume of items coming in daily and communicate with our families as to when their items are ready for pick-up.
Where do I deliver my donations? All donations should be delivered to the A Child’s Place main office located at 601 E. 5th Street, Suite 230.
Can I meet the family that I sponsor? Due to the A Child’s Place confidentiality policy, sponsors are unable to meet their assigned family. Once sponsors deliver items to our office, A Child’s Place will contact families to arrange pick-up.
Should I wrap my donations? Please leave donations unwrapped.
