Education Coordinator (Full Time)

A Child’s Place is seeking a full-time Education Coordinator.  The Education Coordinator coordinates the placement of children in after school programs and ensures that volunteer, homework, tutoring, medical, dental and social group services are provided to students who are homeless.  The Education Coordinator obtains and reports measurable results for the services that are provided. This position also develops and delivers homeless awareness training for school personnel, students and the community, thus raising awareness and additional resources for the students we serve.  Duties require interaction with afterschool and school staff, social workers, families, volunteers, teachers and service providers to assist in meeting the needs of students who are homeless. 

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• valid teaching certificate or four-year degree with emphasis on child development, early childhood education or directly-related field and valid driver's license and insurance 
• ability to coordinate and monitor afterschool, tutorial, medical and other services provided to children who are homeless
• excellent oral or written communication skills
• demonstrated ability or interest in planning and providing physical, educational, social and emotional services for children
• ability to obtain and report measurable results for services provided
• demonstrated ability to develop and deliver training
• proficiency in Microsoft Office products
