STUDENT LIAISON

This part-time position reports to the Program Director at A Child’s Place and involves working with elementary and middle school age students at multiple CMS middle schools.  The Student Liaison also works with school principals, social workers, families, volunteers, teachers and donors to assist in meeting the needs of homeless students.  The Student Liaison must maintain accurate ACP data on both students and volunteers.  S/he must facilitate distribution of in-kind donations to students as determined by observation and referral.


Education and/or Experience

      ·          Two years of college or associates degree from an accredited college with major course work in social   work, education, psychology, or sociology.

      ·          Two or more years experience working with children preferable at risk students.

      ·          The ability to work with and value a diverse student population and colleagues in a supportive role and   the ability to maintain confidentiality are critical.

      ·          Strong written and verbal communications skills required.

      ·          MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
·          Valid driver’s license and insurance required.
·          Reliable transportation required.
·          Pre-employment background check and drug screen required.

SOCIAL WORKER

This full-time position reports to the Program Director at A Child’s Place and will be responsible for providing a comprehensive rage of social services to homeless families at school sites, with the goal of erasing the effects homelessness has on students.

 

Education and/or Experience
       
·          Master of Social Work required.
        ·          Three years social work experience with children and families in a community based organization; experience with homelessness considered a plus.
       
·          Strong case management skills, able to work well as a team member in a variety of settings and the ability to communicate effective orally and in writing.
        ·          Strong written and verbal communications skills required.
        ·          MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
        ·          Valid driver’s license and insurance required.
        ·      Reliable transportation required.
        ·          Pre-employment background check and drug screen required.
